John McMillan


I started Scotwork in 1975 and created the Scotwork Negotiating Skills course.

After graduation I worked as an industrial sales engineer. This job involved both management/union negotiating and negotiating large commercial contracts. Inspired by a study of union negotiating, and using my own personal experience, I created what was to be the UK’s first course teaching the skills of negotiation, as opposed to the theory.

I led Scotwork UK until 2000 when I moved to the USA to set up Scotwork North America, still delivering hands-on training and negotiating consultancy.

I returned to the UK in 2005 to run Scotwork International. In 2014 I took on the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Stephen White

Chairman (UK), Director (International)

I chair the Board of Directors of Scotwork’s UK business and I am involved in global business development of the International business. I also provide the corporate memory for Scotwork’s 150 consultants who want to know what we did before the client database existed, and I co-write the Scotwork blog.

My background is sales and marketing. I read Law at University and worked for 2 major packaging companies for 13 years in sales and sales management. I joined John McMillan and Scotwork in 1984. For the next 25 years together with our colleagues we delivered training and consulting, built the global business and developed the Scotwork product portfolio.

My out-of-office activities include grandchildren, charity work, the arts, and blisteringly fast cars.

Warren Langley

Managing Director (Scotwork International)

As Group MD, he is responsible for the consistent high standards and development agenda across 40 strategically placed Global offices, and the local 150 consultants covering those regions in their 28 different local languages.

He has opened operations in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, Bangalore, Istanbul, Mexico City, Bogota, and Jakarta across the last 10 years, as well as spearheading new product development, and consulting on key International projects, with selected leading Multi-National organisations.

His commercial understanding was shaped by 15 years of senior cross functional roles in Customer business development/ Sales & Category management, Brand and Customer marketing: based in the UK, Russia and North America – before moving into General management.

This approach is now being used to bring about genuine business transformation and sustainable skills development in a number of our leading clients.

Timothy Wong

Senior Consultant

Timothy is a seasoned businessman with in depth knowledge of regional and international negotiation.

Timothy was the director and general manager of an advanced instrument trading company. With over 10 years of experience in trading, Timothy gained in-depth negotiation experience with suppliers from USA, Europe, APAC, Israel and India. He also has extensive experience in dealing with state-owned enterprise, private owned enterprise and university customer in China. He was also responsible for the P&L of the company and managed teams of sales and marketing personnel in China and India which gave him solid internal negotiation experience with board of directors and internal staff.

Since joining Scotwork, Timothy has extensive experience in delivering negotiation training, consulting and coaching to various companies in the Greater China region. His customer came from Telecom, Financial, Pharmaceutical, FMCG, Real Estates, Retail, Luxury, Engineering sectors, with participant from Europe, China, N. America, LATAM, Middle East and APAC. Timothy is a fluent speaker of English, Mandarin and Cantonese. He delivers Scotwork negotiation courses in Hong Kong, PR of China and over 50 countries globally. He received his MBA in Hong Kong University and bachelor degree in University of Wisconsin-Madison.

American Football and soccer are both his passion. Being a fan of Liverpool, May is not his favourite month.

Salvina Siu

Senior Consultant

Salvina is an experienced business consultant with local and international working experience. She is an independent corporate training consultant. Salvina was the Vice President, Learning and Development, of a financial institution; a course coordinator & instructor for an international outdoor educator; and a project manager of a US company in the information technology industry.

With over 20 years of working experience, Salvina gained negotiation experience in handling a wide range of stakeholders – business owners, senior leaders, customers, vendors, business consultants, internal staff, universities and schools, public organizations and government departments, etc.

Salvina has extensive experience in delivering training, consulting and coaching to various companies in Hong Kong, China and Asia Pacific area. Her customers came from Financial, Insurance, Pharmaceutical, FMCG, Retail, Luxury, Information Technology sectors, with participant from Europe, China, North America and Asia Pacific. Salvina is a fluent speaker of English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Her facilitation style is pleasant, engaging, a great sense of humour with practical learning results. She received her MBA in Hong Kong University and bachelor degree in University of North Texas, USA. Salvina is also a Gallup certified Strengths Coach, Licensed Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) master practitioner, Project Management Professional (PMP).

Studying ancient wisdom is her passion. Yoga and meditation are regular practices for her to strike work life balance.

Robi Li

Senior Consultant

Robi Li Xuesong is a sales professional and enthusiastic entrepreneur with rich international and negotiation experience.

Robi was Managing Partner of an independent consulting firm, prior to that Robi was sales VP with a global IT consulting firm, responsible for global account management. Robi also founded his own business on commodity trading between Scandinavia and China. Robi also had served Ericsson for 7 years in various roles (Research, Consulting, Management, Sales) and in difference places (Germany, China, Korea), where Robi acquired his experience on cross cultural communication and business negotiation and identified as global high potential leader and young advisor to the leadership team. Robi gained rich experience in various negotiation with telecom operators, real estate developers, retail brands etc.

Since joining Scotwork, Robi has extensive experience in delivering negotiation training, consulting and coaching to various companies around the world. His customer came from Telecom, Pharmaceutical, FMCG, Real Estates, Retail, Luxury and Engineering sectors, e.g. Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, Heaco, Volvo, Abbott, Aviage, Financial Times, Richemont, Sasol, Saurer, Swarovski, Swedish Chamber of Commerce etc.

Robi is a fluent speaker of English and Mandarin. Robi delivers lively and engaging Scotwork negotiation courses in anywhere around the planet as per client request.

Robi received his Master of Science degree in Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm Sweden and his Bachelor of Engineering degree in University of Science and Technology of China in Hefei China, both specialized in Telecommunication.

Football, traveling and photography are his passion, and he is a big fan of good coffee and whiskey. Robi also runs an espresso bar with friends.

Helen Li

Senior Consultant

Helen graduated in 1999 from Shanghai East Normal University with Master Degree , and she also received MBA of Peking University in 2008.

Helen is Managing Partner of an independent consulting venture before she joined the faculty team of Scotwork. That venture provides sales competence development consulting and training to Fortune 500 organizations. Prior to that, Helen has ever worked with AchieveGlobal and Insights Discovery over 16 years, where she acquired experience in project management, business development and key account management. During that period, she won the sales champion of her region for consecutive years via her strong prospecting and commercial negotiation ability.

Helen has worked closely with a variety of client industries including Lubricant, Chemicals, IT, Pharm., Healthcare, Auto, Agriculture, Advertising, FMCG etc. Some of Helen’s clients are as the below: Shell, BP, Sanofi, Merck, GE Healthcare, Lundbeck, PPG, Columbia, Samson, Dell,Lenovo , Baidu, Netease, Hearst ,Pall, Starbucks, Nestle etc.

Helen is fluent in Mandarin and English. Her facilitating style is genial and humorous, and she always keeps keen on the real challenges of the participants and helps the participants apply what they learned in class to their real work.

Helen is a regular YOGA practitioner. she is also an enthusiastic badminton player.

Jin Guogang

Senior Consultant

Jin Guo Gang is an exceptional consultant with extensive experience in Sales, Business System Development and Executive Training.

Jin was a Senior manager with IBM for 20 years. Jin has managed client relationship with leading financial institutions in China. Jin was assigned in IBM Japan for four years to develop IBM Global Delivery Business with Japan financial Institutions Jin was assigned in IBM Corporate Headquarters for two years as Lead facilitator of Executive Training programs In the last ten years, Jin has focused on Executive Training Programs for Sales, Leadership and Negotiation. Jin has extensive experience in large scale and complex negotiations with both domestic and international clients.

Jin joined Scotwork in January, 2019.

While with IBM, Jin has managed client relationship and large projects with Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Agriculture Bank of China, China Life Insurance, China Property Insurance, PingAn Insurance, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Japan Post Bank, Mizuho Financial Group, Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group.

While with IBM, Jin has managed and delivered several Joint Executive Training programs with HBS, INSEAD, Wharton School, Booth School and Sloan School

Jin graduated from Computer Science Department of East China Normal University. Jin is a fluent speaker of English and Japanese.

Trust me, I'm an England soccer fan

“At least there aren’t so many flags this time” – said my, slightly surly, Scottish colleague. He was referring to the number of St George’s flags flying from car windows on our way to an English course venue – it is, of course, World Cup time. I tried explaining that in years gone by with the various ‘Golden Generations’ the English media had been very adept at whipping up an optimistic frenzy based on us beating sides that were either very unlucky, argued incessantly between themselves (on and off the pitch) or were the lowest of the low in terms of their rankings. Once the England team had lost, this would normally be followed by the inevitable media witch hunt. This has been my experience for the past, nearly 50 years.
