I started Scotwork in 1975 and created the Scotwork Negotiating Skills course.
After graduation I worked as an industrial sales engineer. This job involved both management/union negotiating and negotiating large commercial contracts. Inspired by a study of union negotiating, and using my own personal experience, I created what was to be the UK’s first course teaching the skills of negotiation, as opposed to the theory.
I led Scotwork UK until 2000 when I moved to the USA to set up Scotwork North America, still delivering hands-on training and negotiating consultancy.
I returned to the UK in 2005 to run Scotwork International. In 2014 I took on the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors.

I chair the Board of Directors of Scotwork’s UK business and I am involved in global business development of the International business. I also provide the corporate memory for Scotwork’s 150 consultants who want to know what we did before the client database existed, and I co-write the Scotwork blog.
My background is sales and marketing. I read Law at University and worked for 2 major packaging companies for 13 years in sales and sales management. I joined John McMillan and Scotwork in 1984. For the next 25 years together with our colleagues we delivered training and consulting, built the global business and developed the Scotwork product portfolio.
My out-of-office activities include grandchildren, charity work, the arts, and blisteringly fast cars.
Timothy is a seasoned businessman with in depth knowledge of regional and international negotiation.
Timothy was the director and general manager of an advanced instrument trading company. With over 10 years of experience in trading, Timothy gained in-depth negotiation experience with suppliers from USA, Germany, UK, France, Russia, Japan, Israel and India. He also has extensive experience in dealing with state-owned enterprise, private owned enterprise and university customer in China. He was also responsible for the P&L of the company and managed teams of sales and marketing personnel in China and India which gave him solid internal negotiation experience with board of directors and internal staff.
Since joining Scotwork, Timothy has extensive experience in delivering negotiation training, consulting and coaching to various companies in the Greater China area. His customer came from Telecom, Financial, Pharmaceutical, FMCG, Real Estates, Retail, Luxury, Engineering sectors, with participant from Europe, China, North America and Asia Pacific. Timothy is a fluent speaker of English, Mandarin and Cantonese. He delivers lively and engaging Scotwork negotiation courses in Hong Kong, PR of China and anywhere as per client request! He received his MBA in Hong Kong University and bachelor degree in University of Wisconsin-Madison.
American Football and soccer are both his passion. Being a fan of Liverpool, May is not his favourite month.
Salvina is an experienced business consultant with local and international working experience. She is an independent corporate training consultant. Salvina was the Vice President, Learning and Development, of a financial institution; a course coordinator & instructor for an international outdoor educator; and a project manager of a US company in the information technology industry.
With over 20 years of working experience, Salvina gained negotiation experience in handling a wide range of stakeholders – business owners, senior leaders, customers, vendors, business consultants, internal staff, universities and schools, public organizations and government departments, etc.
Salvina has extensive experience in delivering training, consulting and coaching to various companies in Hong Kong, China and Asia Pacific area. Her customers came from Financial, Insurance, Pharmaceutical, FMCG, Retail, Luxury, Information Technology sectors, with participant from Europe, China, North America and Asia Pacific. She received her MBA in Hong Kong University and bachelor degree in University of North Texas, USA. Salvina is also a Gallup certified Strengths Coach, Licensed Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) master practitioner, Project Management Professional (PMP).
Studying ancient wisdom is her passion. Yoga and meditation are regular practices for her to strike work life balance.
